Chinook Female Profile shows an elderly Chinook woman in profile, her head slightly bowed and her long gray hair drawn back behind her ear, wrapped in a plaid blanket against a dark background. The Chinook lived along the lower Columbia River near its mouth. From Volume 8, facing page 86. Its companion plate, Chinook Female Type, faces page 84. Printed on Holland Van Gelder, one of the three papers used for the original subscriber sets. Titled in the plate lower left (CHINOOK FEMALE PROFILE), with "From Copyright Photograph 1910 by E.S. Curtis" in the plate below the image. The plate mark shows around the image.
