About the artist: Stanislav Sychov was born on December 19, 1937 in Odessa.
In 1960, he graduated from the Odessa Art School (teacher D. M. Frumin).
On May 8, 1967, together with another young artist Valentin Khrushch, he held the first unauthorized exhibition in the USSR - the "wall" exhibition "Sychik + Khrushchyk". The exhibition took place near the Odesa Opera House in the courtyard of the Palais Royal, where the artists' works were placed on a construction fence, and lasted only three hours. Many critics believe that this exhibition became the starting point of "Odessa nonconformism".
In the 1970s, he participated in unofficial exhibitions in Odessa. In 1989, he participated in the international exhibition "Impreza" in Ivano-Frankivsk. In 1989 and 1994, personal exhibitions were held at the Museum of Western and Eastern Art in Odesa.
A significant number of works are in private collections in Munich, Paris, London, New York, New Jersey, San Francisco. NT-Art Gallery. In 2015, a self-portrait of the artist joined the collection of the Odessa Art Museum.
Stanislav Sychov died on December 19, 2003 in Odesa.
