Originally used for mineralogy/crystallography instruction, these models demonstrate crystal forms and their crystallographic axes through painted wire construction.

Originally made as scientific teaching aids, models of this type were used in mineralogy and crystallography instruction to demonstrate crystal forms, symmetry, axes, and spatial relationships.

Each model is constructed from delicate painted metal wire in red, green, yellow/gold, and black, mounted on a turned ebonized wood stand and circular base. The geometric wire forms and colored axes give the models a particularly striking sculptural presence, with a distinctly early modernist and architectural quality.

The bases retain individual period markings:
