Four white ibis forage at the edge of the surf, their long curved red bills probing the wet sand while a green wave curls behind them and foam spreads across the beach. Shells, pebbles and clumps of seaweed dot the sand in the foreground. In his notes on the painting, Brenders wrote that he has loved the beach since he was a child, and that he chose the ibis because its colors suit the color of the water, with the red bill and legs setting off the white.

Published from Brenders' 1990 mixed media painting and printed in the U.S.A. Pencil signed by the artist at lower right and numbered 1329/1950 at lower left, with the plate signature "© C Brenders 90" in the image. The margin carries the title and the Latin name, Eudocimus albus. The edition was 1,950 signed and numbered prints.
