this atmospheric landscape features a calm stream cutting through a northern clearing, surrounded by autumn-colored silver birches with dark, rolling mountains in the distance. The piece is painted with broad, confident, and highly expressive brushstrokes by the listed swedish modernist helge asker (1903–1982).

based for much of his life in östersund and the scenic region of jämtland, helge asker specialized in capturing the raw, poetic beauty of the nordic wilderness. This specific painting is an exceptional example of "moody cabin art" and "nordic autumn" aesthetics, offering a perfect blend of rustic warmth and sophisticated mid-century design.

the painting itself is in very good vintage condition with beautiful color preservation. It comes housed in its original mid-century wooden frame, which shows some light, authentic age-related wear. Ready to hang.
