Painted with confident, heavy impasto brushstrokes, the artwork beautifully captures the interplay of light and soft colour gradients characteristic of mid-20th-century regional french academic painting.
signed "m.valette" in a stylized mid-century cursive hand in the lower-left corner, the canvas is tightly stretched onto its original french standard "8f" stamped wooden chassis using authentic flat-headed structural tacks. Sourced directly from a private estate in the historic charente region of southwestern france, the painting beautifully complete with its original period-correct, distressed sage-green wood frame and internal gold accent border.
a stunning untouched time capsule of provincial french design that adds effortless cottage-core or mid-century sophistication to any space. This piece has an attribution mark,
