This exquisite vintage sculpture depicts Shakyamuni Buddha seated in deep meditation upon an ornate double-lotus base. Expertly cast in solid bronze with a radiant gold finish, the figure's hands rest gently in his lap in the Dhyana mudra (gesture of meditation), cradling a small alms bowl. What makes this piece truly exceptional is the intricate polychrome detailing: the Buddha's robe is beautifully painted with vibrant green, blue, and red pigments, creating a stunning contrast against the gold. The base is equally detailed, featuring textured lotus petals adorned with colorful paint and red accents along the rim. Weighing nearly 3 pounds, this richly decorated and serene figure is a magnificent focal point for an altar, a meditation space, or a sophisticated Asian art collection.
