Opaque acrylic, metallic gold and silver paint and soft oil pastel are laid over one another and cut through with sgraffito, so that scratched lines catch the light across the red ground and the silver column. A band of violet divides a gold upper register from the lower field, where a sweeping red arc and a ringed red disk read as emblems rather than images. A hand-painted lilac border closes the composition.

The work is signed at lower right. It is floated on a gold mat within a burgundy suede-textured mat and a gold-tone frame under glass. A handwritten note signed Jovani is affixed to the backing. It is addressed to a framing center and thanks the framer for expedient service, which suggests the artist arranged the framing. The artwork is 4 x 6 inches.
