The ‘Iceberg’ table lamp, glassworks in the 1970s, is an icon of Italian design from the Space Age. It is crafted from fine opalescent blown glass, typical of the Murano tradition. The shaded, semi-transparent finish creates a milky effect reminiscent of the texture of natural ice. The lampshade has a sculptural, asymmetrical, tapered shape, featuring numerous grooves and well-defined vertical ridges. These surface ripples mimic the veins, stalactites and fissures typical of a block of ice or a glacial mountain.
