The solid teak top has been beautifully shaped with a flowing scalloped perimeter and gently upturned edges, creating a form reminiscent of overlapping lotus petals or a floating lily pad. The raised edges give the tabletop an almost tray-like quality, with the natural grain and warm tones of the teak following its sweeping contours. Below, four elegant cabriole-style legs with rounded pad feet introduce a more traditional influence, creating an unusual contrast with the organic, almost botanical shape of the top. It is a particularly characterful example of 1970s furniture design — playful, sculptural and quite different from the cleaner Scandinavian-inspired teak pieces typically associated with the period.
