The Fortune Teller - A play on words, perhaps a prophecy. This photographic collage brings together religious imagery and expressive gesture. Christ breaking bread is flanked by two outstretched hands, their vivid red contrasting with the muted tones of the central image.
The painting of Christ is photographed from a church in Caen, France. The hands are borrowed from my Porcelain series. Together, the elements evoke the language of art history while suggesting something more ambiguous — a reading of signs, or a glimpse of what might lie ahead.
