Dating to approximately the 1960s, this attractive dining table combines classic British mid-century design with practical functionality, offering a versatile solution for both compact dining spaces and larger gatherings. The tabletop features a warm, richly coloured wood-effect Formica surface with attractive linear grain detailing. Its smooth oval profile is complemented by a gently curved apron, finished with a fine chrome-effect trim that runs around the perimeter. Four elegant tapered wooden legs complete the design, each finished with a small metal foot, adding a subtle decorative touch. The table incorporates an extending mechanism, allowing it to transition from a compact oval dining table measuring 97 cm wide to a larger dining surface measuring 143 cm wide. When extended, the additional central section integrates into the tabletop, providing considerably more usable dining space while maintaining the table’s attractive rounded silhouette. Particularly well suited to smaller homes, London apartments and contemporary interiors, this is an excellent example of functional British mid-century furniture. Its timeless proportions and understated detailing make it equally suitable for Scandinavian-inspired, retro and modern interiors.
