A complete workspace, discreetly concealed.
we present the extremely rare model no. 63, designed by kai kristiansen and manufactured in the 1960s by tørring møbelfabrik / hjn møbler in denmark.
often mistakenly offered as a design by nils jonsson, this is actually model no. 63 by kai kristiansen for tørring møbelfabrik / hjn møbler. The initials hjn refer to the founder of tørring møbelfabrik, hans nikolaj jensen.
this high-quality danish modern secretary desk, crafted from warm teak, is characterised by gently rounded edges, organically shaped corners, and scandinavian minimalism.
when closed, it presents itself as an elegantly proportioned, serene piece of furniture. Opening the writing flap reveals a compact workspace with small drawers, practical compartments, and ample storage.
crafted from solid wood and finished with genuine teak veneer – a high-quality combination of materials and workmanship typical of danish furniture design of this era.
with a width of approximately 89 cm and a depth of around 44 cm, its slim form is particularly well-suited for smaller rooms, quiet corners, and narrow niches. It provides the functionality of a home office workspace without visually overwhelming the room.
thoughtfully designed, tactile, and harmoniously balanced, model no. 63 embodies the qualities of danish design: quality craftsmanship, functionality, and a form created for everyday use.
a rare piece of mid-century design furniture.

condition
very nice, well-maintained vintage condition. The surfaces have been lightly sanded and completely treated with teak oil. This brings out the warm colour and characteristic grain of the wood.
due to age and use, there are a few small to very fine surface scratches, tiny nicks and chips, as well as slight colour variations. These signs of wear are consistent with the age of the piece and reflect its original vintage character.
these traces are generally only slightly visible upon close inspection and are not significant.
the photographs form part of the condition description and show the general condition and the most important flaws. Please refer to the photographs for further details. This piece has an attribution mark,
