An exceptional and highly collectible pair of 19th-century Chinese Export ebonized lacquer demilune tables. When separated, each table functions as an elegant, three legged console table that sits flush against a wall or sofa. When joined together they form a majestic circular center table.
The tables boast beautiful, classic regional architecture, featuring deep scalloped aprons highlighted by cross-hatching and styled RUYI cloud-scroll carvings at the knees
The dramatic cabriole legs cascade down into elegantly carved scroll feet.

The ebonized lacquer finish shows extensive historic craquelure , localized flaking, and rubbing along the high-friction seams and edges where wood is exposed. The tops feature a handsome, matte finish with historical surface wear. The joinery and interlocking mechanisms remain structurally sound and tight. An incredibly charming, untouched pair perfect for designers looking to inject authentic historical character into a space. Highly recommended to keep as a matching set. less
