Meticulously handcrafted from premium solid mahogany, this commode features a striking blockfront profile with alternating convex and concave drawer panels, directly mimicking the elite 18th-century Newport designs of Goddard and Townsend.
The chest retains its original, heavily cast brass batwing hardware and key escutcheons. True to Charak's museum-grade standards, the four graduated drawers exhibit flawless, tight dovetail joinery and smoothly gliding secondary solid oak interior linings. Supported by traditional bracket feet, this piece features a richly figured wood grain with a deep, lustrous warm amber patina. Marked with the maker’s stamp/stencil inside the drawer. See less
