Known for his whimsical imagination and exceptional craftsmanship, De Marchi creates intricate trompe-l'œil sculptures that blur the boundaries between art and everyday life. His subjects range from books and clothing to furniture and full-size automobiles, each meticulously carved with astonishing attention to detail.
This charming collection of three hand-carved wooden book sculptures exemplifies the artist's distinctive approach. Each piece is meticulously sculpted to resemble a stack of vintage books, featuring beautifully rendered bindings, individually carved page edges, and the warmth of natural wood grain.
Beyond their sculptural appeal, the books open to reveal cleverly concealed drawers, offering discreet storage for jewelry, keepsakes, and other small treasures. Equally at home on a bookshelf, coffee table, or desk, these delightful creations bring a touch of whimsy, sophistication, and Italian artistry to any interior.
