The corners are anchored by peacock stylized inwardly directed palmettes set against a deep blue field, while the main border is a repeating geometric band with floral sprays. The design reads as vak-vak with gem tone shades throughout. Colors and shades include: Ruby red, sapphire blue, jade green, saffron yellow, ivory, powder blue, ruby red grapefruit and more. Condition notes: Mostly even short pile across. Most of the original side cord selvages are intact or restored. Tatter to ends. A few localized areas of repairs in varying degrees of expertise. Scattered white knots visible across the weaving. The rug exhibits some variation in contour along the edges and or ends. Based on age and condition this item will need to ship rolled straight. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use Many years of enjoyment to come with this hand knotted Persian Bijar carpet made in Persia circa 1940's vintage. See less
