This charming matching pair of Chinese foo dogs (guardian lions) is crafted from porcelain finished in a soft pale celadon glaze. Each lion is seated on a solid integrated stepped pedestal base, with classic stylized features, open mouth, detailed mane and paws, one paw resting atop the traditional brocade ball.
Foo dogs are iconic protective symbols in Chinese decorative art, perfect for Chinoiserie styling, shelf decor, mantel displays, bookends, or curated vignettes. The quiet muted celadon green glaze blends beautifully with modern, traditional, coastal, and eclectic interiors.
Condition: Vintage new production, minor natural glaze specks and subtle variations consistent with hand-glazing. No chips, cracks or repairs. Sold as a set of two.
