This is a beautifully crafted vintage display cabinet or storage unit, made from rosewood (huali wood) with a rich, warm brown finish.
The cabinet features a traditional two-tier design with sliding front doors. The front panels and the side panels are deeply and intricately carved in high relief with the classic Chinese motif "Magpie on Plum" (Xique Deng Mei), depicting birds perched amongst flowering plum branches—a symbol of joy and good fortune.
The interior features two open compartments separated by a shelf, providing ample storage for books, tea wares, or small collectibles. The base is finished with a decorative, scalloped apron carved with scrolling ruyi cloud motifs and rests on short, curved feet. The wood displays a beautiful, natural grain and a smooth, lustrous patina. This elegant piece makes a stunning accent piece for a living room, study, or as part of a curated display.
