This striking sculpture depicts a serene seated Buddha, likely Amitabha or Shakyamuni, in the traditional lotus position (Dhyana mudra).
The figure's face and exposed chest are finished in bright, polished gold gilt, radiating a peaceful expression with downcast eyes and a prominent ushnisha.
The Buddha's flowing robes are exquisitely decorated using the intricate cloisonné enamel technique, featuring a vibrant turquoise background adorned with scrolling lotus motifs and floral patterns in shades of pink, red, yellow, and green.
The contrast between the smooth gilded skin and the richly textured, colorful enameled robes makes this a visually captivating piece. It is a magnificent focal point for a spiritual space or a refined addition to a collection of Asian decorative arts.
