The composition has a strong tonalist, almost Magritte-like quality — the deep, saturated blues and greens of the night landscape contrasted against the warm interior light of the house windows.

The painting is signed "Valenza" and dated 1997 in the lower right corner of the canvas, with a matching inscription "L. Valenza 1997" on the stretcher bar on the reverse. It is presented in a substantial wood frame with an ornate pedimented crown at the top. The frame has the look and heft of a repurposed antique piece (possibly an old mirror or overmantel frame), giving the whole piece real presence.

Dimensions: Outer Frame: 28" x 48"

Condition: The canvas itself is in good condition with strong, saturated color and no visible tears or paint loss. The frame shows age-appropriate wear, including a small chip to the molding at one top corner (visible in photos) and general surface wear consistent with an antique or vintage frame. No glass (painting is unglazed).

This piece would suit a collector of contemporary tonalist or nocturne painting, or anyone looking for a striking, original oil for a living room, dining room, or study. See less
