Tolix is one of our all time favourite … Read more 1960’s original french t55 tolix rectangular dining table – 160cm (model 1330). Tolix is one of our all time favourite companies. In 1907 frenchman xavier pauchard discovered that he could protect sheet metal from rusting by dipping it in molten zinc (galvanisation) and a few years later he set up his factory producing steel furniture. Tolix was the creator and founder of perhaps the most iconic coffee chair of all time, the tolix model a, designed in 1934 and sadly now copied worldwide. Tolix used their metalworking skill to also produce exquisitely designed but practical coffee/dining tables to partner their chairs. The t55 is the iconic tolix table and this is an unusual and practical 160 cm size. This table comes in its beautiful light gray paint with a slight blue hint, giving the most exceptional character. Knee height: 59cm. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
