Chittrovanu Mazumdar – Untitled Abstract Portrait, 2012
An original abstract ink drawing on paper by acclaimed contemporary Indian artist Chittrovanu Mazumdar, born in Paris, France, in 1956. Measuring 21 inches high by 15 inches wide, this expressive work is executed in ink on paper and features a stylized human portrait rendered through spontaneous, gestural black ink lines. Angular facial features, overlapping contours, and a restrained monochromatic palette create a distinctive sense of movement, visual tension, and psychological depth.
The drawing reflects Mazumdar’s distinctive approach to the human figure and his exploration of the expressive possibilities of line. Its abstract composition, minimalist palette, and compelling figurative elements give the work a strong contemporary character, making it a noteworthy addition to a collection of modern and contemporary art. It is also well suited to curated gallery walls and thoughtfully designed interiors.
