This exquisite 2-piece vintage bar set comes from the celebrated "Collezione Cilindrica," designed between 1968 and 1969 by Studio Opi for the premier Milanese design firm Cini & Nils. The set comes gift-boxed as shown in the photos.
The set comprises a long-handled cocktail stirring spoon and a pair of architectural, spring-action ice tongs. True to the collection's name, each piece utilizes clean, uncompromising cylindrical geometries. The bodies feature a sophisticated satin-brushed stainless finish, beautifully contrasted by mirror-polished operational ends (the round bowl of the spoon and the curved grip of the tongs).
A darling of the 20th-century avant-garde design movement, pieces from this exact series were showcased at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York during the groundbreaking 1972 exhibition, "Italy: The New Domestic Landscape."
