If you want to bring a luxury antique persian silk rug to your home of offoce and you're working around the budget, I ma offering this stunning piece at only $1,499.00
Persian Kashan rugs are classic hand-knotted carpets from the city of Kashan in central Iran, long regarded as one of the purest expressions of the formal Persian city-rug tradition.
They are best known for a symmetrical central medallion (usually oval or diamond-shaped, often with pendant forms above and below) set against a richly filled floral field of arabesques, palmettes, vines, and Shah Abbasi motifs. Matching quarter-medallions typically occupy the corners. Multiple finely drawn borders frame the composition.
Traditional examples use high-quality wool pile (often soft kork wool) on a cotton foundation, knotted with the asymmetrical Persian knot. Finer pieces reach high knot densities and may include silk highlights. The classic color palette centers on deep crimson or madder red fields, navy blue, and ivory, with natural dyes that age gracefully.
Kashan’s weaving fame dates to the Safavid era (16th–17th centuries), when royal workshops produced masterpieces (including pieces linked to the famous Ardabil carpets). After a period of decline, the craft was revived in the late 19th century, most notably through the workshops associated with Mohtasham, whose finely woven rugs remain highly prized by collectors. the one that I am offering here is an absolute beauty, Kashan rugs usually come with wool on cotton foundaation but thos one is made of silk on silk and for being a century old, is in good condition for its age.
