This is a serene and beautifully patinated Chinese bronze figure of Shakyamuni Buddha. The Buddha is seated in the traditional lotus position (Dhyana Mudra) upon a detailed, single-tier lotus pedestal. The figure features a classic ushnisha (topknot), elongated earlobes, and a peaceful, meditative facial expression.
The sculpture is finished with a rich, dark bronze patina that is beautifully accented with scattered remnants of red cinnabar and hints of gold, giving the piece a naturally aged, historic character. The smooth, flowing lines of the robes contrast elegantly with the textured lotus petals on the base. This substantial and tranquil piece is perfect for a home altar, a meditation space, or as a distinguished addition to any collection of Asian religious art.
