Elevate your everyday dining service with this beautiful set of five (5) fine porcelain flat soup/rice bowls from Hakusan Porcelain's iconic, award-winning "Nejiriume" (Twisted Plum Blossom) collection. Masterfully designed by legendary artisan Masahiro Mori in 1968, this mid-century modern Japanese Hasami ware line is globally celebrated for its clean geometric profiles and timeless utility.
Measuring approximately 4.9 inches in diameter, these versatile shallow dishes are the traditional size for serving rice, miso soup, side salads, small cereal portions, or morning fruit. Each features a smooth, brilliant white high-fired porcelain canvas decorated with a crisp underglaze cobalt blue plum blossom crest and concentric ring borders.
All five bases bear the official square blue Hakusan box maker's mark.
*** COLLECTOR NOTE: I am currently listing several individual lots and bundle sets from this exact vintage Hakusan Nejiriume pattern. Please check out my shop's other listings to build a customized dinnerware service or add matching pieces to your collection! ***
Condition:
Very good vintage condition overall. There are absolutely no structural cracks, hairline fractures, or outer rim chips. The glaze remains beautifully glossy across the set. Please note that one bowl has a small manufacturing glaze flaw on the interior bottom—a tiny, rough-to-the-touch pinhole/burst glaze bubble that sits slightly recessed (pictured in close-up). This is a factory-inherent anomaly common to mid-century kiln firings rather than post-production damage, but the set has been priced downward accordingly. Please review all photos for exact details.
