An elegant French botanical illustration depicting sugarcane (*Saccharum officinarum*), beautifully presented in a substantial distressed black wood frame with antique-gold beaded detailing.
The artwork features two detailed sugarcane specimens, with gracefully arching green leaves, slender segmented stalks, delicate roots, and feathery flowering plumes in soft golden-brown tones. Fine botanical linework and subtle coloring create a sophisticated natural history composition against a warm ivory background.
The illustration includes historical Latin botanical references identifying *Saccharum officinarum* and *Arundo saccharifera*, along with the French designation *Canne à Sucre*. Traditional plate markings and scientific annotations further enhance its European botanical character.
The rich black frame features an intentionally distressed finish and a decorative antique-gold beaded inner border, providing a striking contrast to the artwork's soft greens and warm neutral tones.
A beautiful decorative accent for a library, study, kitchen, dining room, or gallery wall. Particularly well suited to French Country, English Country, traditional, and collected interiors.
Presented beneath glass and ready to hang.
