A beautiful art nouveau style tankard, attributable to the french bronze caster and sculptor max le verrier (1891-1973), whose engraved signature appears on the base along with the hallmark 'bronze', attesting to the piece's authenticity.
the slightly flared cylindrical body is made of patinated brown-orange copper. The base, upper rim, and handle are made of gilt brass, creating a striking contrast of materials. The handle features delicate snail-shaped scrolls at both ends, a characteristic motif of the art nouveau style. On the front, a gilt bronze fleur-de-lis is applied in relief, a heraldic ornament typical of early 20th-century french decoration.
the piece displays a beautiful period patina with some light scratches and superficial oxidation, but no major damage. Good overall condition.
