best pendant lamp and produced under license by meblo during the 1970s. A quintessential masterpiece of space age design, this hanging lamp features an organic, biomorphic silhouette consisting of a large globe-shaped outer shade and a smaller semi-spherical inner dome underneath. Both sections are masterfully crafted from milk-white translucent polymethyl methacrylate (acrylic/perspex), which eliminates glare and diffuses a beautifully soft, warm, and atmospheric glow when illuminated. The two acrylic components are seamlessly held together by a prominent, high-polished chromed metal ring around the lower equator. This specific example proudly retains its original, authentic metallic "meblo" manufacturer's label on the chrome ring. Suspended by a retro braided fabric cord, this striking ceiling light serves as a perfect modernist statement piece above a dining table, kitchen island, or lounge area.
