A two-handled French stoneware jar, once a working storage vessel, converted into a table lamp and finished with a new natural linen shade. It has a new socket and new wiring for the US, and we’ll fit whichever plug a buyer abroad needs at no charge. The listed height includes the shade.
French potters call this material grès. It is clay fired hot enough to vitrify right through, so the finished pot is dense and watertight without relying on its glaze. That made it the standard for crocks and preserving jars in rural households, supplied for generations by centers such as La Borne in the Berry and the Puisaye in Burgundy.
European Plug (up to 250V).The wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
