An elegant French gilt bronze bust of Benjamin Franklin, after the model by Jean Antoine Houdon (1741–1828), raised on a turned white marble pedestal.

Franklin is depicted with swept back hair, a thoughtfully modeled expression, and period attire with a buttoned waistcoat and draped neckcloth. The warm gilt surface highlights the sculptural details, while areas of wear and darker patina lend depth and character. The white marble base provides a refined contrast to the richly toned bronze.

A distinguished decorative accent for a library, study, or collection of portrait sculpture.

Dimensions: 8 inches high overall.

Condition: Visible wear to the gilt finish and surface patina, with marks and discoloration to the marble base. See less
