This is a substantial, finely detailed vintage Tibetan Buddhist statue of Green Tara (Sgrol-ma). Crafted from copper with a rich, gilded finish (tuojin), the figure sits in the classic "lalitasana" (royal ease) posture, with her right leg extended and left leg drawn up, resting on a double-lotus base.
The Bodhisattva is depicted with a serene, downcast expression, wearing an elaborate, multi-pointed crown with a small figure of Amitabha Buddha at the center front. Her right hand is extended downward in the varada mudra (gesture of generosity), while her left hand is raised in the vitarka mudra (gesture of teaching), holding the stem of a lotus flower that blossoms near her shoulder.
The figure is adorned with intricate jewelry and a flowing, patterned lower garment. The statue features a deep, dark patina and areas of green oxidation (verdigris) in the recessed details, giving it an aged, antique appearance. The base is solid and has a rough, unsealed interior, typical of traditional cast copper pieces. This weighty sculpture makes a peaceful and commanding presence for a home altar or as a centerpiece in a curated space.
