Full of rustic charm! Antique Chinese red and black lacquered wood cabinet, often referred to as a marriage cabinet or armoire, featuring gilt (gold-leaf) and carved figurative/floral panels from the early-to-mid 20th century or 19th century. The copious interior features two interior drawers and a sturdy shelf - it would make an excellent entertainment cabinet or storage unit. Decorative brass door pulls on all doors.

A richly decorated Chinese wooden cabinet in the traditional wedding-cabinet style, featuring a warm vermilion-red finish, contrasting black borders, and delicate gold-painted detailing. Four tall paneled sections create a balanced façade, with recessed rectangular fields framed by fine decorative borders.

Small relief-carved panels depict figures in narrative scenes, while the upper panels feature floral ornament. These sculptural details complement the hand-painted gilt decoration, giving the cabinet a layered combination of texture, imagery, and color. Darkened metal escutcheons and suspended ring pulls accent the doors.

The cabinet is assembled with interlocking wooden joints without nails—a construction consistent with traditional mortise-and-tenon craftsmanship. The wooden door pivots allow the doors to turn within the frame without conventional metal hinges. See less
