Franklin is depicted in formal 18th century attire, wearing a long coat over a buttoned waistcoat, with a tied neckcloth and finely detailed lace cuffs. His shoulder-length hair frames a composed expression, while the carefully modeled clothing features decorative buttonholes, pronounced folds, and long coat tails.

He carries a tricorn hat beneath his left arm and holds a rolled document in his right hand, evoking his achievements as a writer and statesman. The surviving gilding highlights the sculptural details, contrasting beautifully with the warm brown tones of the bronze.

Detailed on the reverse with flowing hair, tailored seams, and deep coat pleats, the sculpture offers visual interest from every angle. Its dark wooden mount provides an elegant presentation for a library, study, or collection of historical portraiture.
