The table is characterised by its strong rectangular silhouette, generous proportions and distinctive architectural construction. The substantial tabletop is finished in beautifully patterned burl walnut, displaying an intricate arrangement of swirling grain, natural knots and warm reddish-brown tones.

Two discreetly integrated drawers provide practical storage while preserving the clean, uninterrupted lines of the design. Their concealed appearance allows the expressive wood grain to remain the main decorative feature.

The substantial rectangular top rests on a recessed dark base, creating a floating effect that emphasises the horizontal proportions of the table. The contrast between the richly textured walnut veneer and the understated pedestal gives the piece a refined, modernist character.

Jean-Claude Mahey's furniture is recognised for its bold volumes, luxurious finishes and sophisticated use of materials, reflecting the distinctive aesthetic of French furniture design during the 1970s.

Combining functionality with a strong architectural presence, this coffee table makes a sophisticated centrepiece for both contemporary and vintage-inspired interiors. Its warm colour palette and expressive natural wood grain introduce depth and character without compromising the simplicity of its design. In general good vintage condition with minor traces of use conform for the age.
