This original painting by Marilina Marchica presents a refined and meditative interpretation of the seascape, reduced to its essential elements through a language of subtraction and tonal restraint.

Executed in oil on canvas, the work is built through delicate layers and subtle chromatic transitions in deep and atmospheric blues. The horizon line—barely perceptible—emerges as a fragile threshold, a liminal space between presence and absence, matter and memory.

Marchica’s practice is rooted in the poetics of the fragment and the concept of landscape as an inner, psychological space. The surface appears suspended and time-worn, evoking sedimentation, distance, and silence rather than representation.
Quiet yet powerful, this piece embodies a contemporary minimalist aesthetic, making it particularly suitable for high-end interiors, architectural spaces, and curated art collections. Signed by Maker See less
