Bambara puppet figurine.
We're captivated by this antique puppet figurine from Mali, dating back to the 1950s. with its helmet and white beard, the doll's captivating, almost hypnotic gaze invites you to experience the traditional Sogo Bo puppet show. Its presence is singular, unique, and charismatic. Made of hand-painted natural wood, it shows some minor losses on the upper part (around the helmet) and tiny drying cracks. Note the red pigment in the palms of its hands and the watch worn on its right arm. The patina is simply superb, lending the object its authenticity and uniqueness.
