Decorative pine mantelpiece with eight drawers France, circa 1920
A French pine mantelpiece dating from around 1920, distinguished by its eight small drawers arranged in two rows. Each drawer features a square metal knob, adding a understated touch to this rustic piece.
An overhanging shelf sits atop a wide band that reveals the wood’s grain. The straight side posts, accented with fine moldings and finished with flared bases, frame a rectangular opening.
The pine has a warm honey hue, with signs of wear and small holes visible on the surface. This piece combines the charm of an antique architectural element with practical storage space. It would make a decorative mantelpiece in a living room, bedroom, or country home.
