An original signed and numbered color etching by Swedish modernist artist Karl Einar Andersson (1925–1975), presented in its vintage gold-tone frame. The work is hand-signed in pencil and numbered 38/150.
The composition is built around an unusually economical visual idea: a saturated yellow field is interrupted by a network of flowing white organic forms. The limited palette gives the image exceptional graphic clarity, while the irregular contours introduce movement and prevent the composition from becoming purely geometric. The result sits comfortably within the language of post-war Scandinavian modernism, combining formal restraint with a strong decorative presence.
Andersson was a Swedish painter, sculptor and graphic artist whose training included Skånska Målarskolan, Otte Sköld’s painting school, the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm and the Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen. His practice extended beyond painting and printmaking to sculpture and architectural commissions. His work is represented in Swedish institutional collections including Nationalmuseum, Malmö Museum, Norrköpings Konstmuseum, Skissernas Museum in Lund and the City of Lund collections.
This editioned work demonstrates the directness that makes Scandinavian graphic art of the post-war period particularly effective in contemporary interiors. The intense yellow ground creates immediate visual impact, while the pale organic forms keep the composition light and open rather than heavy. At 78 × 67 cm framed, it has substantial wall presence and works particularly well as a single focal piece.
Presented under glass in a slim vintage gold-tone frame, which adds warmth to the otherwise restrained composition. The work is undated, but stylistically belongs to Andersson’s mid-century and post-war modernist practice. This piece has an attribution mark,
