Executed with prominent, tactile impasto brushwork, the piece shows incredible texture in the flower petals against a dark, atmospheric backdrop.
The piece is beautifully hand-signed by the listed Swiss-French master Amedee Baudit (1825-1890). Originally from Geneva, Baudit settled permanently in Bordeaux in 1867, where he became a key lead figure of the late-19th-century Bordeaux School. Adding excellent provenance and historic charm, the reverse retains its original 19th century metallic merchant label from the renowned "Allemandou" framing shop located at 55 Rue Porte-Dijeaux in the heart of the city. The painting comes housed in its gorgeous, original ornate gold-gilded frame. This piece has an attribution mark,
