A pair of English painted pedestals from circa 1900, designed with elegant scroll-sawn supports and a light decorative finish. Each stand presents a circular top resting on three elongated legs with fluid curves, their ends rolled into scroll feet. The circular feet and top brackets are embellished with painted motifs, including stylized stars and initials, which add a touch of whimsy to the design.
The pale painted surface has developed a gentle patina, softening the bold outlines of the scrollwork and enhancing the timeworn appeal. Likely intended as plant or display stands, their slender circular tops are well suited for supporting urns, busts, or floral arrangements.
With their tall proportions and playful silhouette, this pair of English pedestals provides a charming decorative accent. Whether flanking a console or fireplace, or standing as individual display pieces, they bring a lively and distinctive presence to any interior.
