A handsome 19th century French Provincial Louis XVIII-style farmhouse dining table crafted from solid oak with beautifully crafted barley twist turn legs measuring over 7 feet long. The table is constructed with a massive rectangular plank top measuring 1.5" thick comprised of broad oak planks with a richly aged patina and figuring. The top is framed by breadboard ends and sides with visible peg joinery and a molded edge. The top is supported by an impressive trestle base made up of four boldly turned barley twist legs, each ending in a square foot block and ending with a turned bun foot. The legs are joined by a substantial barley twist H-stretcher centered by a large block topped by a turned finial. The table is heavy and solid with strong joinery and amazing craftsmanship. The 19th century piece has acquired authentic wear and a rich aged patina having natural age cracks, rustic construction, and tool marks adding to the charm and character of the table. Crafted in a rustic French Country Provincial style with a classical Louis XVIII silhouette, the table is well-suited for a variety of spaces. The table has ample leg room measuring 25 inches from the floor to the apron.
