Crafted from a dark, richly grained hardwood with a deep reddish-brown patina, the tray is designed with a distinctive undulating, scalloped edge and rests on small bracket feet. The top rim is accented with small, evenly spaced dots of white shell.

The center of the tray is beautifully decorated with a detailed nature scene. Two birds with iridescent green, blue, and purple wing accents are depicted—one perched on a leafy branch and the other in flight.
