Decorative pair of large carved oak candlesticks, each standing an impressive 64cm tall.
Beautifully proportioned with turned and carved stems, stylised foliate detailing and substantial shaped bases, the pair have been finished in a distressed off-white paint which gives them a wonderfully relaxed, aged appearance. The candlesticks are in good decorative condition with various age-related marks, rubbing, losses and wear to the painted finish as pictured, all of which add to their character. Their generous scale makes them particularly effective as statement pieces on a console, sideboard or large dining table, and they are a handsome matching pair with plenty of architectural presence.
