A superb large-scale contemporary five-light hurricane candle holder by Colmore, designed as an impressive table or console centrepiece. The substantial polished silver-coloured metal base supports five individual candle platforms arranged at graduated heights, four of which are surrounded by tall clear glass hurricane shades, creating a striking architectural display with wonderful symmetry and presence. The highly polished finish beautifully reflects both candlelight and its surroundings, while the clear cylindrical glass shades protect the flames and give the piece a particularly elegant appearance when illuminated. The fifth, centrally raised platform can accommodate an additional candle, allowing the arrangement to form an impressive five-light display. Colmore continues to specialise in decorative interior accessories and currently produces a substantial range of aluminium, nickel-finished and glass hurricane candle holders. The original Colmore manufacturer's label remains to the underside of the base. Presented in good condition with only light surface marks and signs of use consistent with a decorative piece of this nature. A wonderfully glamorous statement accessory, ideal for a large dining table, console, sideboard or entrance hall, and particularly effective when displayed with substantial pillar candles.
