An interesting glazed tile based on a work by Salvador Dalí entitled “Les Guitares” (The Guitars). The composition of the drawings is very similar; what differs is the color palette. In this case, flat colors such as white, black, mustard, and red are used. The background is abstract, filled with geometric shapes and curves differentiated by black lines and sudden color changes. Against this background are framed several guitars whose forms are reminiscent of Picasso's Cubism. Form and background blend together because there is no shading or attempt to create perspective.

As already mentioned, this work is inspired by one of the six tiles produced in the 1950s by El Siglo, a tile manufacturer in Castellón. In 1953, art dealer Maurice Duchin contacted the company to commission a series of tiles inspired by the works of Dalí. They asked Dalí for sketches, which were then cast into molds and hand-painted individually. The series consists of six colorful tiles, paired in duos, and named after the three titles: "Life and Death," "War and Peace," and "Love and Music."
