An impressive and finely carved wooden relief depicting the Annunciation, the sacred moment in which the Archangel Gabriel appears before the Virgin Mary to announce the birth of Christ. Created in Germany during the 19th century, this monumental relief is distinguished by its expressive carving, harmonious composition, and exceptional devotional character.

Expertly hand-carved in wood, the relief retains its original polychrome finish and is presented within a white-painted frame that beautifully complements the composition. Rich in detail and craftsmanship, it is a striking example of 19th-century German ecclesiastical art, equally suited to a private collection or as a dramatic focal point in a refined interior.

The relief is offered in good antique condition, with age-appropriate wear consistent with its history. The Archangel Gabriel is missing two fingers, a minor historical loss that does not diminish the overall beauty, authenticity, or visual impact of the work.

A remarkable and highly decorative piece for collectors of sacred art, religious sculpture, and European antiques.
