It is finished entirely … Read more This desk lamp by Hala Zeist, model 144, was made in the Netherlands in the 1950s. It is finished entirely in black, including the newly installed cable and the switch, which gives it a clear, graphic silhouette. A domed metal shade sits on a curved chrome-plated steel arm and a round base. The lamp is 44 cm high and the shade has a diameter of 30 cm.

Originally, both pivot points, at the shade and at the base, were fastened with plain slotted screws and nuts, so every adjustment of angle or height needed a screwdriver. We replaced them with high-quality V2A stainless steel knurled nuts and screws. The lamp can now be locked and released by hand, without any tools, and the look of the original mechanism is preserved.

The lamp is in good vintage condition with age-appropriate signs of use. Small paint losses have been touched up and there are a few minor dents. It has been rewired in black and is in working order. As with any vintage luminaire, it may differ from today’s technical standards, so we recommend having the electrics checked by a qualified electrician before use. Bulb not included.
