The simple decoration, combined with its well-worn appearance, gives the piece an authentic character. The chest still features its beautiful original fittings and the matching key. A few old repairs bear witness to years of use and contribute to its well-worn character. Sporadic signs of woodworm have been checked and treated. Inside, the cupboard features a small and a large shelf, a small rail and oak coat hooks. For conservation purposes, the cupboard has been finished with a natural layer of beeswax, preserving the original paintwork and its authentic appearance.
